Zoetis Finance Chief Departs, Raising Caution Flags

Zoetis disclosed that its finance chief, Wetteny Joseph, is leaving the animal-health company under a departure agreement. The stock actually rose about 4% on the day, but a top-level exit like this often signals uncertainty worth watching. When we looked back, we found 115 similar exits; on average the stock lagged the market by about 3% over the next three months, and it beat the market less than half the time.

What would change this — A fresh 8-K naming a permanent replacement, or new insider buying by executives, would shift our read.
